2013 Charity Dinner
Burn Stewart supported our Group again when Peter Semple provided his time, energy and knowledge for the tasting before our 2013 Dinner.
Through Peter’s hospitality the company enjoyed a great start to the evening with samples from Deanston in Stirlingshire, Bunnahabhain on Islay and Tobermory on Mull. Many members of the group had visited one or all of these distilleries since SAFG held their first dinner in 2011 and we feel sure many more members will be tempted to visit following Peter’s excellent tasting.

In 2013 the committee again provided the popular Chivas Regal Royal Salute and 16 year old Scapa with Scapa making a repeat visit from the previous year and Royal Salute being an ever present since the inaugural dinner.
Doug Clements generously provided an award winning year old Spice King blended malt from Weymss Malts to accompany our sweet course, the quality of which surprised many who would prefer a single malt. Stewart Laing’s generosity extending for a 3rd year with a Sovereign 50 year old grain whisky from North British which accompanied our cheese course. The final course of coffee and tablet was complimented by Glenfarclas 10 year old making another welcome appearance from the previous year based on its popularity.
