The Tasting

2012 Charity Dinner

Alan Hall of The Creative Whisky Company got our 2012 Dinner off to an excellent start by providing 3 single malt whiskies to taste which are not to be found on the shelf of the local supermarket. These hard to find whiskies were very popular with our members. If you meet Alan,  you might want to ask him his joke about the dog walker – its a cracker!

No doubt the specialist whisky shops will now be visited looking for Glenburgie 10 year old, Balmenach 24 year old and Glen Spey 21 year old.

In 2012 we had more Island influences than at our previous dinner. This included bringing a friend from the previous year, Royal Salute 21 year old and two Orkney favourites, Scapa 16 year old and Highland Park 12 year old.

Support from others included Tobermory (Burn Stewart Distilleries) with their excellent 15 year old Tobermory in Mull, whilst Glenfarclas of Speyside provided their 10 year old which proved popular with the members.

Continuing the island connections Stewart Laing once more brought his companion Big Peat which the peat lovers thoroughly enjoyed whilst The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) kept us on Islay with a 14 year old Bowmore.
